The Richmond Area

The former capital of the Confederacy, our town is steeped in history and effortlessly blends southern charm with modern culture on the banks of the James River. Just off I-94, our hotel is just south of downtown and is also close to Chester and Petersburg. Guests enjoy spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi and cable TV and get the morning off to a good start with our free Bright Side Breakfast® and a workout in the fitness center. Shopping, dining and numerous historic sites are a short drive away.

Walk in the footsteps of Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson in downtown Richmond, with its tree-line streets and gas lamps that once inspired Edgar Allan Poe, who grew up here. Visit the Virginia State Capitol, designed by Thomas Jefferson, and step back in time at the Museum of the Confederacy. Go for an evening stroll along the Canal Walk and browse through shops in converted warehouses or, perhaps, indulge in some steamed oysters and crabs at the nearby restaurants. Craving water action? James River will challenge you with its Category IV rapids and if you feel the need for speed, check out a Richmond NASCAR race. For a quieter afternoon, consider several nearby golf courses and lots of shopping. Virginia Commonwealth University and Fort Lee are a short drive away.
